WORLD WAR COVID
Notes before the Second Civil War, 1
With thanks for Will Durant's Abraham Lincoln

Lock him up.

He blocked the mails, a Federal offense

Him and Lajoy could share a cell after a one-week trial,

An open and shut case for federal conviction with no parole,

And exclusion thereafter from government,

And five to ten years of hard time,

Pending other litigations carefully pre-set

The complex ones we are wasting so much time on now:

How many Repugnants dance on the head of Putin’s anti-American pin?

Let’s jabber endlessly about that for the next, oh, decade.

By packs of lawyers knife and fork in hand,

Packs of journalists forbidden to report anything more important,

For or against the rest of his life spent in prison.

Lock him up now, while we still can

Before the pro-fas highjack absolute control

And pack everyone off to Utah in cattle cars

Per long cherished Repugnant plans.

Remember Cheney and his FEMA

Who couldn’t handle a proper horse race, much less a real emergency.

Now, packing people off in cattle cars,

They are experts at that kind of thing now

As they practiced it in Iraq and Afghanistan.

***

The first American Civil War

Began with a lie and ended with a murder.

A hostler raised a Confederate flag over his Alexandria hotel

Within full view of Lincoln’s home.

When interrogated by Union troops come to tear that rag down,

He said he was just a boarder

Then whipped out a shotgun and shot off the Colonel’s face.

 ***

After all the Rebel generals surrendered,

And their tattered armies straggled home,

 Some asshole shot Lincoln dead.

Normally, in battle, you take no more prisoners after that kind of thing.

Instead, as usual, the slavers got away with it.

 ***

So much for States’ Rights and such claptrap,

Voter suppression for raw political power,

 Just more pro-fa lies.

It was Nathan Bedford Forest of military lynch mob fame

A bloody-handed psychopath if there ever was one,

Before, during and after the War

And never served a day of prison for his crimes,

Who said: “If we’re not fighting for slavery,

 What are we fighting for?’

 ***

It was Lincoln who said:

“Stupidity is not a detriment to a politician.”

 ***

The people and workers of Europe were for the Union;

The rich and the powerful were for the South.

On the wrong side of history, morality and greed, as usual.

Old rich white men and their love affair with stupid bigot greed

Inscribed in black and white for the record.

The London Times, on Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address?

“Anything more dull and commonplace would not be easy to produce.”

A shitty sample of bad writing and  journalism

Like the New York Times’ famous Freedom Fries

Proudly proclaimed when France opposed the lie-based  invasion of Iraq.

The Vatican alone recognized Rebel President Jefferson Davis

The Russian Church alone adores Putin, the Czars

Evangelicals worship Bolsonaro, Trump,

The list of deified demons goes on

Organized blasphemy against the Holy Ghost

The conscience of good and evil systematically neutralized

That will not be Forgiven.

***

Barney Frank, Howard Dean and other Democrats

Had their political career ruined for doing nothing very wrong.

Repugnants get away with impeachable crimes and misdemeanors on a routine basis.

They lie, cheat and steal openly and gleefully.

They are admired and re-elected for it by their base

Of know-nothing idiots unfit to vote.

Trump boasted as much for the record.

Democrats whine endlessly about it,

Like bullied nerds in High School.
