The Mandate of Heaven -- 天命
The Mandate of Heaven took China millennia to learn. You have had a few hundred years. Catch up fast, Yankee pragmatists and Euro Cartesians.
On the whole, global and local leadership must honest, problem solving, humane where possible, and respectful of ancient protocols. Humanity earns the Mandate of Heaven from their fanatical devotion to duty and sacrifice of self. There is relative abundance, relative peace, relative security. The people are quiet. The weather (with catastrophic exceptions) is mild. That is the Mandate of Heaven, as upheld by the people in charge.
How to lose the Mandate of Heaven? At all levels and with fewer and fewer exceptions, leadership defaults to corruption and self-gain destructive of everything and everyone else. Hypocritical, creating problems, cruel when possible, disrespectful of past practice; it loses the Mandate of Heaven. Ruination, bankruptcy, local violence and foreign wars, from top to bottom no-one is safe. The people, victims of hunger, disease and despair, complain louder and louder. The weather becomes exponentially more catastrophic. Cosmic scale weather anomalies surpass hundred year records. The Heavens unleash energy levels never recorded before.
A society regains the Mandate of Heaven by punishing the cruel for profit and rewarding self sacrificial problem solvers, en masse and quickly. Those people are one in a thousand. They can be easily controlled once everyone else understands how the Mandate of Heaven works.
Then other problems will shrink to manageable proportions. So, too, the weather and climate change and global heat death will moderate themselves as miraculously as past tempests stormed exponentially. Tectonics and solar flares will back down from threatening to steady state. The ecological healing of the world will advance by leaps and bounds of popular enthusiasm, direct action and straight-forward miracle. So will all social goods grow back into the social fabric and strengthen its weave in peace.
The mandate of heaven is simple, it is historically proven, it is the expression of divine love for humanity. It is a self-sustaining force for good or a devastating one for those who choose otherwise.
Choose, then spread the word and make it work better.
